Suspension of the selection of non-commissioned officers of the Ertzaintza as a result of an appeal concerning the Euskera
More than 1,000 Ertzainas have been prepared for this process, but a judge has provisionally suspended the test scheduled for Wednesday, June 18 at 16:30 in the BEC.
The judge has provisionally suspended the process of selecting the non-commissioned officers of the Ertzaintza, following an appeal on the Basque language in these tests, as reported by the Department of Safety and Security.
In particular, the First Instance Judge of Administrative Court No. 2 of Vitoria-Gasteiz has provisionally suspended the call for selective proceedings for promotion to the category of Non-commissioned Officer of the Ertzaintza, which was to take place on the 18th.
The Court argues that as long as there is no final judgement on the appeal against the 2022 order regulating the selective procedure for promotion to the category of Non-Commissioned Officer, the proceedings cannot be carried out, in which the grounds for assessingthe knowledge of the Basque Country have been appealed.
According to the Department of Safety and Security, the proceedings suspended by the Court are based on the reality of the Ertzaintza and do not exceed the requirements laid down in the legislation in force and are shared and accepted by the trade union organizations represented at the Ertzaintza Negotiating Bureau .
More than 1,000 Ertzainas are preparing and learning for this process, so the test scheduled for next Wednesday, June 18, at 4.30 p.m. at the BEC has been suspended.
