Euskadi will pay tribute to the pelotaris of the tip basket for their work as "ambassador"

On the occasionofthe celebration of the Basque Diaspora Day , which will be held on 8 September, an event will be held on the fronton of Markina-Xemein (Bizkaia) to pay tribute to the pelotaris of the tip basket who have played on frontons around the world.
The meeting will be attended by President Imanol Pradales and the dance group of Saint Pierre et Miquelon, an island off the coast of Newfoundland with one of the oldest frontons in North America.
The Basque Government has stated in a statement that the pelotaris represent, in addition to their sporting role, a group that "has playedan essential role as ambassador of the name of the Basque Country ".
