They managed to stabilize the fire in Girona by 70% and burned down a house and a farmhouse last night
The Generalitat Fire Department has managed to control much of the right side of the fire and will try to stabilize it completely until noon, when the offshore wind enters.
TheGeneralitat Fire Brigade managed this morning to stabilize 70% of the right part of the fire that broke out yesterday in La Bisbal d'Empordà (Girona), as reported today by fire chief David Borrel, although the flames have burned down a house and a farmhouse .
In statements to journalists, Borrel explained that until the onset of the coastal wind, at noon, an attempt will be made to completely close this part of the right, where the flames are most intense, which is why preventive measures have been taken (confinement in seven villages).
Borrel says they're working well, but there's still a lot to do. Last night, 100 hectares were burned, and since the fire broke out, 2,300 hectares have been burned, the entire massif of Les Gavarres Natural Park.
Despite the heavy work of the fire brigade, the flames reached the town of Calonge last night and burned a house — which was empty — and there was also damage to the gardens and to the enclosures of several buildings.

Seven villages confined
Borrel has specified that confinement in seven villages in the area is still in place. The flames reached the town of Calonge early in the morning, and several neighbours were reported to have left their homes. According to the fire chief, this attitude is understandable because of his nervousness, but he insists that the safest thing is to be inside the house.
In this regard, he recalled what happened a few years ago in Portugal: that of some 200 neighbours who, fleeing the flames, took to the road and died there.
