Israel has killed 48 people in Gaza, 32 of whom were trying to reach a food distribution point
Soldiers have started firing at thousands of Palestinians who were trying to reach the point of separation, according to witnesses and local sources.
At least 48 people have been killed by Israel since early Saturday morning in the Gaza Strip, including 32 who were trying to reach a humanitarian aid delivery point, firing soldiers at the crowd.
In northern Gaza City, at least 16 people have been killed in four attacks: seven in an Israeli bombing of tents near the Al Tabiin school; one woman and one child near a mosque in the west of the city; and two others in the bombing of a group of people in the Zeitun neighbourhood, according to local sources.
In addition, five other people have been killed and several injured when an Israeli drone bombed a tent in the Al Daraj neighbourhood in central Gaza.
In the south, in Rafah, at least 32 people have been shot deadand more than 80 injured in an attack on the crowd waiting to distribute foodin the vicinity of two US-protected militarized areas.
According to witnesses and local sources, the soldiers began firing at the thousands of Palestinians who were trying to reach the dividing point .
A source from the morgue at Naser Hospital has confirmed to the news agencies that among the dead are the bodies of 25 men (who usually go for food for their families) and four other unidentified bodies, including a woman.
Three other bodies have also been counted later, according to the Department of Health in a statement, which has warned that "an unprecedented humanitarian disaster is coming if international silence continues".
On Friday, around another delivery centre, at least ten other Gazans were killed by Israel, and due to food shortages, more and more Palestinians are suffering from malnutrition and hunger .
