Trump announced that he would impose sanctions on Russia and its trading partners if no agreement was reached on the war in Ukraine, and on July 29 he reduced the deadline for doing so from 50 to 10 days, an ultimatum that expires on Friday.
The fifthmeeting between Putin and Witkoff since the beginning of the year da - the last was in April - and so far the Russian leader has not accepted the request for a ceasefire in Ukraine.
