Richard B. Cheney, aka Dick Cheney , died at the age of 84 from pneumonia and "complications" caused by cardiovascular disease, according to a statement released this Tuesday by his family.
Cheney, the 'number two' of the George W. Bush Administration, died on Monday night. His family wanted to remember him as a 'great and good man' who 'taught his children and grandchildren to love their country and to live lives full of courage, honor, love, kindness and fishing'.
"We are grateful for all that Dick Cheney did for our country," says the note, collected by the American media, offering messages of gratitude to his wife, Lynne, and her two daughters.
Cheney was also the head of U.S. Defense and once one of the pillars of the Republican Party, but in the 2024 election he acknowledged that he would not vote for Donald Trump, but for Democrat Kamala Harris.
