The official portrait of Marie Leczinska, Queen of France, exhibited at the Bonnat Helleu Museum in Bayonne
The portrait of Queen Mary of France dates back to 1748. The original version is in the Palace of Versailles and has been ceded to the museum of Bayonne by a family of Mexican and Basque origin.
In the first ten weeks of opening the renovated museum you have received more than 50,000 visitors in Bonnat Helleu; 30% bayonets, another third Basques and the rest from outside.
