Andoni Ortuzar, former president of the Basque Nationalist Party (PNV) , will serve as external adviserto the international consultancy company PwC. After leaving the presidency of the Euzkadi Buru Batzar (EBB) in February, Ortuzar will work in this international company inthe field of communication and public affairs.
PwC is one of the largest consultants with a large presence in the Basque Country and is also part of the main companies in this field, the 'Big Four' , a group made up of Deloitte, KPMG and EG. There are more Basques in the company: Vizcaínos Gonzalo Sánchez and Asier Atutxa, president of the company in Spain and responsible for the north.
The consultancy will thus strengthen its institutional profile in an increasingly strategic context of communication with the public and political sectors.
Ortuzar, a Bachelor of Information Sciences from the University of the Basque Country, is a former CEO of EiTB and has a long history in theBasque Governmentand institutional policy.
This change comes three years after the PNV, together with PDeCAT, promoted a legislative amendment to eliminate the obligation to rotate audits every ten years, allowing PwC to register two of its main contracts in the Ibex 35, namely the audits of Banco Santander and Telefónica, which were at risk due to the limitation of sustainability.
