The Basque Government has appointed Edurne Egaña, a member of the Executive of the PNV of Gipuzkoa, as adviser the day after her dismissal as Director of the Public Organization Sports Ports of the Basque Country (EKP). is the entity that manages the ports and sports facilities of the Basque Country.
As published today in the Official Gazette of the Basque Country, since 1 November, Egaña has been an adviser to the Department of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries .
As Director of Ports, he was involved in several lawsuits, including the investigation by Examining Court No. 2 of San Sebastián for alleged irregularities in the award of port mooring in the capital of Guipuzcoana . A ruling of the High Court of Justice of the Basque Country, for its part, estimated two appeals against the process of awarding port mooring. Following this decision, the People's Party requested the resignation of Egaña.

Now that the new appointment has become known, PP Congresswoman Ana Morales has described it as a scandal to maintain the Basque Government's confidence in a person who "has brought a public institution into chaos."
