Just this morning, Israel killed at least three people in the bombing of the only Catholic parish in Gaza. The parish has been sheltered and estimated to be around 400 people in the building at the time of the attack.
"We were sitting in peace and quiet (...) In a second, we saw that the world had become a stone that came out of ash, fog and flight," explains Ihab Ayaad, a Gazatite Christian inside the parish.
Among the wounded is his Argentine priest , Gabriel Romanelli , whom Pope Francis called daily, from the beginning of the invasion of Israel until his death on April 21, to learn about the situation of the hundreds of refugees who took refuge in that church.
In December 2023, two months after Israel invaded the Strip, an Israeli sniper shot at that parish and killed a mother and daughter. But to this day, this church has not been directly bombed by Israel.
