Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez will be in Egypt next Monday at the signing of an agreement to end the war in Gaza, in which the US, the major Arab countries and some European countries will also participate.

Meanwhile, tonight, in Tel Aviv Square, known as Hostages Square, the latest mobilization will take place to demand the release of the hostages held by Hamas, which is expected to be released in the next few hours.

It appears that the US President is planning to hold a sort of summit on Gaza in Egypt at the beginning of next week involving leaders from the Arab world and some European countries.

After the ceasefire has been confirmed and the first night without bombing, thousands of people are trying to return to their homes and lives.

UN Secretary Stéphane Dujarric's spokesman has stated that "they are working with our Israeli counterparts to have a system that facilitates and speeds up the entry of humanitarian aid, but exchange is not the responsibility of UN officials."

Dujarric has reported that the UN coordinator in the Middle East Ramiz Alakbarov has held "meetings and talks" with the Israeli authorities to make decisions on the volume of supplies and aid that may be sent to the Palestinian enclave.

Dujarric has stressed that most trucks loaded with supplies pass through the Kerem Shalom and Kerem Abu Salem crossings to Gaza. "We expect all crossings, including Rafah, to be open to humanitarian aid and the private sector," he said.

A number of Palestinian groups will meet "in the coming days" in Cairo to define "the comprehensive Palestinian dialogue" and discuss "key issues of the future of the Palestinian affair," such as the administration of the Gaza Strip and the "disarmament" of Hamas, Palestinian sources told intelligence agencies.

Egypt has issued invitations to participate in these talks, but it is not yet definitively dated because some of the participants are involved in the actions of the first phase of the plan, at the request of the Hamas negotiating delegation.  The objective will be "to discuss issues relating to the future under the auspices of Arabs and Islamists".

They will discuss, inter alia, the form, role and names of the commission to be set up to administer the Gaza Strip, the issue of Hamas weapons and the general situation in Palestine after "the day after".

Deputy Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs Tom Fletcher has presented a plan for the delivery of basic goods for the first 60 days of the ceasefire, after more than seven months of Israeli blockade.

The UN and its partners want to increase the flow of supplies to "hundreds of trucks every day" and increase the distribution of food. Humanitarian workers would also help restore the destroyed health system and provide medicines and medical services.

Fletcher has detailed that 1.4 million people will be given priority in recovering water and sanitation services and that the provision of shelters will be increased to help families prepare for the winter.

On Friday, the Israeli authorities published the names of 250 Palestinian prisoners who will be included in the Gaza Strip in exchange for hostages held by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), both alive and dead.

Political figures like Maruan Barghuti and Ahmad Sadaat will not be released under pressure.

According to the agreement reached between Hamas and Israel, more than 1,700 Gazatis detained on 7 October 2023 but not involved in the attacks, including all women and children detained in that context, will be released and the remains of 15 Gazatis killed by Israel will be handed over to each of the abducted Israelis.

The United Nations Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) hopes that "pragmatism will prevail" and that both its aid trucks and personnel will be able to enter the Gaza Strip, as explained at a press conference by its spokesman, Juliette Touma.

For the time being, the signatories to the agreement have not contacted the agency, but it has ensured that it will be very difficult, 'if not impossible', to respond to the scale required in Gaza without UNRWA.

Since March this year, the Israeli authorities have blocked UNRWA and other humanitarian actors from entering the Strip. 

As he explained, the UN agency has enough supplies to fill 6,000 aid trucks in Jordan and Egypt, as well as enough food to feed the Gazatis for three months.

U.S. President Donald Trump said on Thursday that he expects the hostages to be released "on Monday or Tuesday," and stressed that his administration has achieved its impossible, which is "peace in the Middle East."

Trump has assured that a US president has never had a relationship like he did, and that those contacts have helped him push through an agreement between Israel and Hamas. "I've never seen anything like it, but there's really peace in the Middle East," he said at Thursday's cabinet meeting.

Yemen's Houthi rebels support any peace agreement to protect the "Palestinian cause" and open up "political horizons" to the future to establish a full state.

In the same vein, Tehran has recalled the "responsibility" of the international community to "prevent the occupation regime from violating its promises" and has called on all parties to spy on Israel, recalling that Israel violated the agreement signed in March.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has said that the organization is "ready to act in the Gaza Strip" and to put in place the necessary mechanisms to "cooperate as much as possible." "We can increase the entry of water, food, medicines and shelters, all at once. But to turn the ceasefire into a real process, we need more, not just to silence weapons," he said.

US President Donald Trump will travel to Israel in the coming days to celebrate on the ground the peace agreement that Binyamin Netanyahu's government and the Palestinian Hamas group will sign, the Israeli Presidency announced on Thursday.

Of the 1,950 Palestinian prisoners to be exchanged under the peace agreement announced by Israel and the Palestinian Islamist group Hamas, there will be no members of the brigades involved in the attacks of 7 October or Palestinian leaders such as Marwan Barghouti.

Palestinian agency sources have told news agencies that Palestinian prisoners Ahmed Sadat, Hasan Salameh and Abbas al-Sayed will also be excluded from the exchange, despite Hamas's demand that Israel release them throughout the negotiation process. 

A senior official of the Hamas Islamic Resistance Movement has accused Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu of attempting to "thwart" the agreement. "It seems that Netanyahu is trying to sabotage the ceasefire agreement by stepping back on the lists of prisoners before it is implemented in order to weaken the consensus," said Mahmud Mardaui, a senior party official on the X social network.

Egypt's President Abdelfatata al-Sisi  has stated that "this agreement not only closes the war chapter, but also opens the door to hope for the peoples of the region for a future defined by justice and stability."

Jordan's Foreign Minister, Ayman Safadi, has valued "Trump's decisive role in the process," as well as that of the mediators, and stressed that "Jordan will continue to work with regional and international partners to ensure that sufficient humanitarian aid is provided in cooperation with UN institutions."

Saudi Arabia's Foreign Ministry has applauded the agreement and the role of the US and the mediators. It has expressed its hope that "this important step will lead to urgent humanitarian action to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people of Gaza", calling for "a two-state solution and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders".

LebanesePresident Joseph Aoun has stated that the treaty will be "a first step towards a lasting ceasefire and an end to the humanitarian suffering of the brother of the Palestinian people in Gaza."

The Ministryof Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates has stressed that Trump plays an "important" role in the agreement and has stressed the need for the parties to comply with the agreement, to "maintain" it and to "work responsibly to resume a profound political process that will lead to a two-state solution, achieving security, peace and prosperity for all the peoples of the region."

However, he has been cautious and has assured us that we must wait for the agreement to be signed. 'We hope that it will be signed today and that further steps will be taken to implement the agreements reached,' he summed up.

The ceasefire in the Gaza Strip will enter into force when the Israeli Government approves in cabinet on Thursday afternoon the agreement reached early in the morning between Israel and Hamas in Egypt, so that the agreement would begin to take effect when Benjamin Netanyahu's government gets the green light.

FPLP (Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine) has stated that the treaty "is the result of the mythical resistance of Gaza and the Palestinian people." They recall that they reject foreign guardianship and say that the Gaza administration must be "Palestinian, with the participation of Arabs and the international community in reconstruction and recovery," he said.

The Presidentof France, Emmanuel Macron Francia, has stated that his country will continue to engage with international partners in the search for a political solution to the war. "This agreement must mark the end of the war and the beginning of a political solution based on a two-state solution," Macron told X.

ThePresident of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sanchez , has expressed his hope that the agreement will be "the beginning of a just and lasting peace. Now it is up to us to talk, to help the civilian population and to look to the future.

Giorgia Meloni The Prime Minister of Italy has described the announcement as "tremendous news." He has thanked Trump for his "tireless attempt to end the conflict in Gaza," as well as the mediators. He has ensured that "Italy will continue to support the efforts of the mediators and is ready to help stabilize, rebuild and develop Gaza."

German PrimeMinister Friedrich Merz  has described the first steps towards the agreement as "encouraging, offering a new hope for the hostages and their families, the people of Gaza and the entire region." In X, he added: "We urge all parties to keep their word, to end the war and to pave the way for lasting peace." Germany will continue to strongly support this process. "

Binyamin Netanyahu's Israeli government will meet on Thursday afternoon to approve the peace plan for Gaza that Israel and Hamas have signed in Egypt this morning.

According to nearby sources, the first meeting of the Security Cabinet will be at 5 p.m.  (16:00 in the Basque Country), a body composed of key ministers in the field of defence, security, foreign affairs and justice, which decides on the steps to be taken during the offensive in Gaza.
