Trump warns that migration policies are "wiping out" European civilization
Donald Trump's administration has warned that Europe's "civilization will be eliminated" because of migration policies and the alleged censorship of the European Union (EU) in a report by the US National Security strategy that proposes to help "steer" the course of the continent.
The 33-page document that Trump has described as a road map to ensure America's hegemony strongly criticizes European allies and claims that "if these current trends continue, the continent will be unrecognizable in 20 years or less. "
The foreign policy strategy document repeats Trump's previous criticism and speeches from far-right movements in Europe.
Among the main problems identified by the United States are "the activities of the European Union and other institutions that undermine political freedom and sovereignty; migration policies that are transforming the continent and creating conflicts; censorship of freedom of expression and suppression of political opposition; declining birth rates; and loss of national identities and self-confidence."
The Trump administration has questioned the ability of European countries to remain "reliable allies" if the economy and army are not "strong enough."
"We want Europe to remain European, to regain its self-confidence as a civilization," the document adds. According to this, America's goal should be "to help Europe lead its current course."
The document also warns that "in a few decades at most," some NATO members will become "a non-European majority , "and therefore questions whether they will be governed by the bloc's principles.
