"We're going to start ground raids on drug cartels," Trump said last night on Fox New TV.
"(Drugs) are driving Mexico. It's very sad to see what's happened in that country. But in the United States, 250,000 to 300,000 people die every year from the drug that the cartels put in," the Republican leader added in the interview.
Since Trump began his second term, he has intensified the fight against drug trafficking. As for Mexico, he has proposed sending the U.S. military to fight drug trafficking.
Mexican PresidentClaudia Sheinbaum has rejected Trump's proposal, claiming that he is a sovereign country and that he is committed to peace.
Trump will meet with Venezuela's opposition leader
Trump explained last night in the same interview that next week he will meet with Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machadoin the United States after the US arrested Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores last weekend.
"I think he's coming next week and I want to say hi to him," he explained.
