Hillary Clinton has denied before Congress that she knew Epstein
Former US President Bill Clinton's wife has accused the committee investigating the Epstein case — the Republicans have a majority — of wanting to "divert attention" and "cover up" President Donald Trump's behavior.
"I don't remember ever being with Mr. Epstein. I've never been on his plane, and I've never visited his island, his homes, his offices. I have nothing more to say." In these words, the former First Lady of the United States Hillary Clinton has denied that she knew the convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein and has assured her that she was not even aware of his crimes.
Former President Bill Clinton's wife today testified before theHouse Oversight Committee on the Epstein case in the United States Congress.
He has accused the committee that he's quoted — the Republicans have a majority — of trying to "divert" focus and attention with his statement, and of "covering up" US President Donald Trump 's conduct. He has explained that he was not aware of Epstein's "criminal conduct." "Like any other citizen, I was horrified when I heard of the crimes."
The former First Lady, who has used the words "tragedy" and "scandal" to define the Epstein case, has considered that the case requires a "thorough investigation." She believes that the committee has not called the "real implicated" to testify. "Instead, you have called me knowing that I have no information that would be useful for the investigation."
Tomorrow, it will be the turn of her husband, Bill Clinton, who initially refused to testify before Congress but agreed to explain his connection to Epstein on the grounds that he could be charged with contempt. Since then, both have repeatedly demanded that their testimony be made public because they say they have nothing to hide.
The former president has acknowledged that he made several trips with Epstein on his private plane in connection with his not-for-profit activities.
