PNV and PSE-EE propose Mikel Mancisidor as Ombudsman

The parliamentary groups of the PNVand the PSE-EE presented this Friday in the Basque Parliament their candidacy to appoint Mikel Mancisidor as Ombudsman of the Basque Country (CAV).
For the appointment of the Ombudsman, however, the proposal requires the support of EH Bilduor the PP, since the Basque Parliament appoints the Ombudsman by a three-fifths majority of its members, that is, with the support of 45 parliamentarians.
The proposal was presented jointly by thePNV spokesman, Joseba Diez Antxustegi , and theGeneral Secretary of the Socialist Group, Ekain Rico .
Mikel Mancisidor a is a bilbaine lawyer, a law graduate from the University of Deusto and a doctor of international relations from the Geneva School of Diplomacy. For 10 years, he was director of the Basque Country Centre UNESCO Etxea (2004-2014).
