Around a thousand people in León have protested against the management carried out so far and have called for resignations, as well as the declaration of level 3 emergency, so that the management would be transferred from the Junta de Castilla y León to the Spanish Government.

Castilla y León, Asturiasand Cantabriahave used themassive emergency communication system  on Saturday to ask citizens near the Peaks of Europe to cease any mountain activity. This is the first time three Autonomous Communities have used the service in a unified manner.

Lasierra is a village surrounded by encinars in the Ribera Alta (Álava), about a dozen inhabitants. Two years ago, a security perimeter of three hectares was built. With the assistance of the Council, eight workers cleaned the forest for a week.

It was not until Monday that the fire that was under control on Wednesday was surrounded and stabilized. The risk of fire in Navarre is still very high or extreme.

The heat wave and extreme fire risk have forced Tafalla City Council to take preventive action.

In the 1960s, the number of fires was 1 and 2, but over time these fires have increased, and in recent decades they have become very serious, fifth and sixth.

There are about 30 active fires, 14 of them serious, and eight autonomous communities are on flame alert. The Molezuelas de la Carballeda fire could be the largest recorded in the state since data was available.

The situation is worrying in the Spanish State, where there are many fires. In the last few hours more than 7,000 people have spent the night away from home and two people have died as a result of the fires, one in Madrid and one in León.

In the last few hours, a number of people have been arrested as being responsible for various forest fires, such as a fireman in Ávila who reportedly burned more than 2,200 hectares of  to get a job.
