Today, two experts from the Ertzaintza have testified that several samples of the defendant's clothes were being examined. Specifically, a stain on his pants and two stains on his shirt and slippers have been investigated and it has been concluded that the blood was blood stains and coincided with Mazon's DNA.

On the fourth day of the trial for the murder of Maialen Mazon, the mother of the alleged killer has also declared that her son is not capable of doing such a thing "under normal circumstances." 

The coffin will then be taken to the cemetery in Pamplona, his hometown, where the funeral will be held, thus giving the last farewell to the first president of democracy.

On the second day of the trial for Maialen's murder, several witnesses have testified that Maialen was killed on 27 May by her partner in a hotel in Vitoria-Gasteiz, stabbing her 13. The charges say she acted with intent to kill, for which a 45-year prison sentence has been requested, while the defense alleges that she was "disconnected from reality."

Five other Basque activists travelling in the Global Sumud fleet have returned on Monday. In the morning, Salim Malla Gutierrez, a professor at the University of Vitoria-Gasteiz, landed at Loiu airport and publicly denounced the "kidnapping in a floating concentration camp" and the "physical and psychological mistreatment" they suffered.
