An international group of academics has concluded that the Israeli offensive in Gaza is a genocide
The International Association of Academics on Genocide has reviewed the abuses against the Gazatis and the statements of some members of Benjamin Netanyahu's government in a report.
The International Association of Academics on Genocide(IAGS), which brings together about 500 researchers from around the world, has concluded that Israel is committing genocide in the Gaza Strip under the umbrella of a military offensive, conclusions that have been quickly condemned by the Israeli authorities.
The association has reviewed the abuses against the Gazatis and the statements of some members of Binyamin Netanyahu's government, including those who have stressed that members of the Israeli government have been in favour of "destroying" the Palestinians by promising to turn them as "animals" joz and Gaza into "hell . "
Based on verified data, experts believe that "Israel's policies and actions in Gaza comply with the legal definition of genocide" and therefore call for the cessation of "all acts that may constitute genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity", including famine declared in the Strip for lack of humanitarian assistance.
The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on the other hand, has described the IAGS statement as "shameful" for the academic and legal profession, believing that the report is "based on Hamas's campaign of lies, "in the words of its spokesman, Oren Marmorstein.
"IAGS has set a historic precedent. For the first time, 'genocide academics' have accused the victim of genocide," Marmorstein lamented.
On the other hand, it recalls that Hamashas always used the term "genocide" to describe the attack on Gaza and regrets that it is taking place "in the eyes of the world", while blaming the international community for doing nothingabout it.
