Zelenski will coordinate his response to Trump with France, the United Kingdom and Germany
The Ukrainian President has assured us that the diplomatic teams are working on the document received. He has shown willingness to negotiate, but has made it clear that the provisions contained in the document 'may vary greatly'.
Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski said in a telephone conversation with the leaders of France, the United Kingdom and Germany that he will coordinate with them the responsehewill give to the US peace plan on Thursday.
"We are coordinating closely to ensure that our principles are respected. We are coordinating the next steps and we have agreed that our teams will work together at the appropriate level," the President of Ukraine wrote on social media. Zelenski said that both he and Macron, Starmer and Merz greatly appreciate Donald Trump's efforts to end the war.
Zelenski wants the PeacePlan to be "real and dignified" and has assured that they are working on the document prepared by the Americans. He has met with Foreign Minister Andri Sibiga and the diplomatic team and asked them to work to ensure that Ukraine's interests are taken into account in its relations with its partners at all levels.
Zelenski has stressed that there are currently meetings, calls, and work on the points of the peace plan proposed by Trump and has warnedthat the provisions contained therein "may still vary greatly."
Indeed, the document contains a number of proposals that Kiev considers unacceptable, such as the demand for the withdrawal of troops from the eastern region of Donbas, which it still controls, or the fact that its army does not exceed 600,000 people after the war.
