Zelenski has denied the attack and warned on his social media that Putin's goal is "to be an excuse to continue his attacks on Ukraine."
Russian President Vladimir Putin has warned US President Donald Trump US of his intention to review his position and some of the agreements reached at the start of negotiations on the war in Ukraine following the attack on one of his headquarters in Kiev.
"On the night of 28-29 December 2025, the Kiev regime launched a terrorist attack with 91 unmanned aerial vehicles against the headquarters of the Russian president in the Novgorod region. All the drones were destroyed and there were no casualties," the Kremlin reported .
Yuri Ushakov, an international policy adviser to the Russian Presidency, has told the press that Trump has been "outraged" by what happened and has said that he could not imagine "such a foolish act" in Kiev.
The head of the Kremlin has stated that these "terrorist" actions will not be unanswered by Moscow.
Faced with these accusations, Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski has accused Russia of lying : "Now, the Russians have devised a false story about an attack on the residence of the Russian dictator to be an excuse to continue their attacks on Ukraine," Zelenski told Telegram.
The Ukrainian Head of State believes that the purpose of the indictment is to "break with the progress" made by the Ukrainian and US negotiating teams to achieve peace in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
Zelensky, who met US President Donald Trump in Florida on Sunday to advance peace in Ukraine, has described Russia's warning today as "typical Russian lying tactics."
"It is important that the world does not remain silent and does not prevent the Russians from moving towards peace," Zelenski concluded.
