Ukraine and the US have concluded the meeting, without Russia's involvement, based on post-war reconstruction
The Geneva meeting was expected to be trialogue with a Russian delegation to advance discussions on how to end the armed conflict. The next trialogue is scheduled for early March.
Delegations from Ukraine and the United States of America concluded a meeting of less than four hours in Geneva, Switzerland, on Thursday and discussed talks on the reconstruction of the country's infrastructure during the post-war period .
Although it was expected to be a trialogue, in which Russia would also participate and where further discussions were planned to end the armed conflict, Moscow has not participated in the meeting, as it did two weeks ago.
According to the state news agency TASS, the Kremlin's special envoy for economic cooperation, Kirill Dmitriev, has travelled to Geneva and arrived at the hotel during the meeting, but the Russian Diplomatic Mission in Geneva has not confirmed whether there has been any interaction with either delegation or with any of them.
The US team has been led by White House special envoy for peace processes Steve Witkoff and President Donald Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, who have also met with Iranian negotiators before and after meeting with representatives of Ukraine to discuss the Islamic Republic's nuclear program.
The Ukrainian delegation was led by Rustem Umerov (head of the Ukrainian National Security Council), David Arajamia (head of the main parliamentary group), Oleksi Sobolev (finance minister) and Darina Marchak (number two).
"Together with the economic team, we will work hard on the" prosperity package ": mechanisms for economic aid and the recovery of Ukraine, instruments for attracting investment and areas of long-term cooperation," Umerov explained before the meeting.
After speaking from Kiev with his envoys and White House mediators, Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski has said that the next meeting between Ukrainians, Americans and Russians will take place in early March and probably in Abu Dhabi.
