Trump has asked his allies to take the wall by force
The White House has said that opening the strait is not a priority of the military offensive. Trump has suggested to affected countries that they can buy oil from the US. Meanwhile, he has announced that the UK will send new defense systems and more troops.
Donald Trump has urged his allies to "take the Strait of Hormuz by force." The US president has suggested thathis country's main goal is not to open that channel because it does not require much of the crude oil coming from it.
In a message posted on the social network Truth Social, Trump has sent a message to the countries affected by the closure, giving them two options: to gather "enough courage" to take the coastline by force, or to buy oil from the US.
Trump's message has been interpreted as a warning to his NATO allies or Asian countries about all the nations increasingly affected by the interruption of oil flows, liquefied gas and other essential commodities from the Middle East. In his words, these countries "will have to learn to fight for themselves, because the United States will no longer be there to help."
Indeed, in the words of the President of the United States, it can be understood that he has no special interest in opening a strategic maritime corridor because his country is not under the influence of crude oil from that region. So the White House has also recalled that the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz is not the main objective of the military offensive, and that the priority is to end Iran's maritime, missile, and nuclear development capabilities.
The United Kingdom will send more resources to the Middle East
The President of the United States specifically mentions the United Kingdom in the published message, adding that he refused to "destroy Iran." However, the United States has announced that it will send new defense systems and more troops to the Middle East.
Defence Minister John Healey has been visiting Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Bahrain these days and has agreed, among other things, to increase defence cooperation with those responsible in those countries.
Healey has announced that the British Army will deploy new air defense systems to the area, as well as 1,000 additional troops to assist in the installation, training and operation of these systems, and has also ensured the expansion of the air squadron operating in Qatar.
