The PNV has been "satisfied" with the anti-crisis measures, which for EH Bildu "is not enough."

PNVand EH Bilduhave issued two notes on the measures taken by the Spanish Government to alleviatetheeconomic consequences of thewarin the Middle East . The Extraordinary Council of Ministers  this Friday approved a first packageofmeasures with two decrees : one on anti-crisis measuresand one on housing .

In this context, the PNV has expressed its "satisfaction"with the response to its demands, since"families and self-employed people do not have to pay for the consequences of this crisis", while jeltzales have stressed that"industry, which supports the engine of the Basque economy and thousands of jobs, is no exception, especially theelectrointensiveindustry  ".

The PNV welcomes the measures adopted to control fuel and energy prices: "We believe that it follows the philosophy of the 31 measures proposed bythe Basque Group in certain sectors, such as transport, industry, livestock and fisheries, which seek to act with direct aid and tax initiatives. "

According to jeltzales, these measures "will help make the final price of electricity and fuel more affordable for families and self-employed people. "They aim to reduce the impact of the Middle East  conflict on the population. 

With regard to the second decree on housing measures or controls on business margins, jeltzales have stated that they have not yet received the final text and that, in order to assess it, they must first read it and analyse it.

On the other hand, EH Bilduhas welcomed the fact that the decree izana , which included three important citizen protection measures requested and transferredto the Sánchez Government, includes the extension of the electric and thermal social bond, the prohibition of cuts in basic supplies and the recovery of the support mechanism for the electro-intensive industries, although "it is not enough".

"EH Bildu does not agree, without taking measures to prevent a speculative increase in prices and profits, with a general tax cut, which will only increase the profits of large energy and oil companies, as we saw on the return of the war in Ukraine. Let us not repeat the measures that have already failed," the abertzale coalition stressed.

For EH Bildu, "in this situation ofuncertainty and helplessness, it is essential to ensure the fair distribution of wealth. "He has therefore shown his willingness to continue working to" achieve a social and economic shield that protects the vast majority of society, the Basque industry and the sectors that have been hit hardest by war. "

"Measures need to be taken in the areas of social protection and housing, such as extending rental contracts and variable mortgage quotas; limiting prices and corporate profits to avoid speculation; supporting industry; promoting an energy transition based on renewable sources; and promoting fair taxation that forces large companies to deal with this crisis, so that the effects of the war do not fall back on the grass-roots classes, "EH Bildu added.
