The meeting in Florida has represented a rapprochement between Washington and Kiev and the intention to involve the main European partners again. However, there are still substantial differences over security guarantees and the territorial situation in eastern Ukraine.

European leaders have backed the Ukrainian president before meeting with the White House president in Florida, and Canada has promised him million-dollar aid to rebuild the country.

Moscow has launched heavy attacks on the Ukrainian capital and the northeastern and southern regions, resulting in at least one death and 19 injuries.

Zelenski spoke on the phone to the U.S. special envoy, who on Wednesday opened the door to the possibility of withdrawing troops from Donbas.

He stressed that Russia is prepared to "end the conflict peacefully, based on the principles I set out before the Foreign Ministry last June" and "if the original causes of the conflict are eliminated."

For the time being, the authorities of the 27 will not use Russian assets to finance Ukraine. 

European sources have explained that once the peace agreement has been reached, "serious" work is under way to define measures to ensure Ukraine's future security.

According to preliminary reports, Ukraine would be prepared to remain unincorporated into NATO if Russia provided security guarantees that would prevent further attacks.

According to the President of Ukraine, the Armed Forces will have 800,000 troops.

Zelenski has explained that eight of the initial 28 points of the plan presented by the Donald Trump administration have been removed from the totally unacceptable eight points for Kiev during the meetings between Kiev and Washington in Geneva, Abu Dhabi and Miami.

After the meeting, the Ukrainian president has travelled to Brussels, where he will have a meeting with von der Leyen, Costa and Rutte on Tuesday.

Ukraine's president will be in London on Monday to meet British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and then plan to travel to Brussels to meet with Europe's main allies. One of the main points of disagreement between Ukrainians and Russians is the handing over of the territory under Kiev's control Donbas to the Kremlin.

Hungary and Slovakia have announced that they will bring the plan before the Court of Justice of the European Union.

The Russian President has denounced that European countries, especially France, Germany and the United Kingdom, have included in their peace plan demands that are 'unacceptable' to Moscow. In his words, they want 'the whole peace process to be blocked'. 

The two leaders have held a videoconference meeting with US negotiator Steve Witkoff, after which they have held talks with several European leaders to "coordinate" towards the end of the war and to link "long-term security guarantees."

"We want to see the end of death and suffering," the US Secretary of State said. He also stressed that peace must ensure that Ukraine is "sovereign and independent, so that the country can live in prosperity."

As the world looks at Ukraine and Gaza, the United States and China are waging a silent war over the world's commercial, military and technological superiority.
