Eight Palestinians starve to death in Gaza on a new day marked by scarcity
With them, 289 people have died since October from malnutrition and lack of water, 115 of them children.

Eight Palestinians , including one child, died on Saturday in Gaza due to lack of water and food, the Ministry of Health reported on Sunday, adding that eight other people died on Friday from famine, including two children.
Since the beginning of the Israeli offensive in October 2023, 289 people have died of starvation. Moreover, in recent months, the situation has worsened even more since the Israeli blockade restricted access to basic supplies.
The United Nations officially declared the state of famine in the territory on Friday and warned that one in three children is suffering from severe malnutrition. On the other hand, organizations have warned that the crisis is spreading and that access to aid remains chaotic and dangerous.
Attacks on Gaza
At least eight people have been killed since early Sunday morning in the latest Israeli attacks on Gaza, half of whom were trying to receive humanitarian aid.
According to official data, more than 62,600 Palestinians have already been killed since the start of the war, but the Palestinian authorities have warned that they are also victims under the rubble left by the bombings.
Saturday's victims
Saturday was one of the deadliest days of the Israeli offensive, as at least 64 people were killed throughout the Gaza Strip, including 19 people waiting to distribute food in an extreme shortage, and 17 people were killed in a bombing of tents in Jan Yunis, including six children between the ages of six months and 13.
