Reactions from the international community to the US attack on Venezuela
Russia has denounced an "armed attack" with "unfounded excuses," Spain has called for "de-escalation and moderation," and the Argentine president has celebrated the attack.
The US Army's attack on Venezuela, including the arrest of President Nicolás Maduro, has been an earthquake for international politics, and the positions, more ambiguous positions, and supporters of the Bolivarian Government's allies have been clearly seen.
Within Venezuela's allied countries, the Russian Government has condemned the attacks and described them as "unfounded armed attacks".
"Ideological hostility has triumphed over business pragmatism and the willingness to build trustworthy relationships," the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
"In the current situation, it is essential, above all, to prevent theescalation of violence and to find a way out through dialogue. We believe that they must seek solutions through dialogue. We are prepared to cooperate in this process, "added the Ministry led by Sergei Lavrov.
"Latin America must remain the area of peace declared in 2014 and Venezuela must be guaranteed the right to determine its destiny without destructive external intervention, let alone military intervention," the Ministry said.
Russia has also supported the request of the Venezuelan authorities and leaders of other Latin American countries to convene an urgent meeting ofthe UN Security Council .
Iranhas also condemned the US military attack on Venezuela, which it described as a flagrant violation of international law, and has called for an immediate response from the international community to stop it.
"The US military attack on Venezuela is a flagrant violation of the fundamental principles of the Charter of the United Nations and the basic rules of international law, "the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported in a statement.
The ministry has reported that the US attack on "a sovereign state "has been "a threat to regional and international peace and security." The Iranian Government has warned that the attack affects the entire international system because the order based on the UN Charter will be weakened.
Miguel Díaz-Canel Kuba has also denounced America's "criminal attack" on Venezuela and said "our #BakeGunea is being brutally attacked."

Spain calls for de-escalation
The Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the European Union and Cooperation has advanced that it is closely monitoring the situation in Venezuela, in coordination with the members of the European Union and the countries of the region, and that it "calls for de-escalation and moderation, always respecting international law and the principles of the Charter of the United Nations".
In this regard, Spain, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, "is prepared to give its good offices a peaceful and negotiated solution to the current crisis".
"The President of the Italian Government, Giorgia Meloni, closely follows the situation in Venezuela and is in constant contact with the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, to obtain information about our fellow nations," the Italian Government said in a brief statement.
Meloni, one of Trump's major allies in the European Union, recognized opposition leader Edmundo González Urrutia as Venezuela's president-elect in 2024 and defended the "democratic transition" following the controversial July 28, 2024 elections.
