Prohibition of access to European Chamber facilities for Iranian representatives and diplomats
There has been violent repression in Iran over the past two weeks against people protesting, and according to the NGO Iran Human Rights (IHRNGO), at least 648 people have died.

ThePresident of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola , decided on Monday to ban Iranian diplomats and representatives from entering the European Chamber "in order not to contribute to legitimising a regime that has been maintained through torture, repression and murder".
Metsola has announced this in a message sent to MEPs expressing solidarity with the "brave citizens of Iran" who are "constantly" protesting on the streets of Iran, while denouncing Tehran's "repression" and accusing the Iranian Government of committing "assassinations" and "arbitrary arrests".
It recalls that the position of the European Parliament is' clear ', proclaims that' human rights must be respected ', recalls that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard has been declared a terrorist organisation and calls for the extension of EU sanctions to include 'all those involved in repression, violence and executions'.
The NGO Iran Human Rights (IHRNGO) today renewed its report thatin the last two weeks 648 demonstrators have been killed in Iran and that someof the 10,000 detainees are at risk of being executed.
In addition to the demonstrators,121 members of the security forces in Iranhave died in connection with the protests.
Protests erupted in late December in the central market of Tehran to denounce the economic situation and then spread to other parts of the country.
