As Iran attacks US bases and Israel intensifies its bombings, China calls for a ceasefire

Tension in the Middle East has escalated this Sunday after it became known that Iran has attacked US bases in Kuwait and Bahrain. Fires have erupted in basic infrastructure and the Persian Gulf countries have denounced the situation.
According to the official Iranian agency Tasnim, the US base Arifjan, located in Kuwait, has been attacked with missiles as part of a new wave of attacks on Israeli and US targets.
Kuwaiti authorities have confirmed that they have responded to missile fire and a wave of drones. The attacks have caused fires at Kuwaiti International Airport and the headquarters of the Public Social Security Organization.
Bahrainhas also denounced Iran's attacks on a military base in the port of Mina Salman, carried out by Iran.
Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries condemned the attacks and described the escalation of violence as dangerous. The organization's Secretary General, Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, has denounced Iran's "disastrous attacks on infrastructure" in Kuwait and Bahrain and accused Tehran of attempting to destabilize security in the region.
A few hours earlier, Iranian President Masud Pezeshkian had assured that his country would not carry out attacks against neighbouring countries unless Iran was attacked from those territories.
Meanwhile, Israel reinforced its military operation. The Israeli Army has reported that it has launched attacks on fuel tanks allegedly used by the Iranian armed forces in Tehran. It has also ensured that it has attacked Iranian F-14 fighter planes at Isfahan airport.
Iran's Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, Ali Lariyani, has reported that Israeli soldiers have been arrested, unaccounted for, and accused the US of hiding its casualties.
Israel has continued its bombing campaignin Lebanon , killing at least 25 people on Saturday night to Sunday in attacks on the towns of the south of the country and the capital, Beirut, according to the Lebanese National News Agency.
