Iran has again imposed restrictions on the Strait of Hormuz
Tehran warned today that it would close the strait again if the US did not lift the blockade on Iranian ports. US President Donal Trump has also failed to defuse tension and has warned that if he fails to reach an agreement with Iran by Wednesday, he will "start firing bombs again."
It is not in the Middle East. It has been 10 days since the US and Iran agreed to a two-week ceasefire, and since yesterday the truce between Israel and Lebanon hasbeen in force. In this kind of calm Iran has taken a step and announced yesterday the opening of the strategic Strait of Hormuz.
"Control of the Strait of Hormuz has returned to its previous state and the strategic path is once again subject to strict management and controlby the Armed Forces, "Central Headquarters spokesman Jatam al-Anbiya announced in a statement collected by the Tasnim agency.
Iran had warned: if Trump kept the blockade, he would close the strait again. The US has kept its head from its old neck, and so Tehran has kept its promise.
In the last few hours, and according to data collected by the Al Yazira chain, at least four ships have crossed the strait, including the transport of liquefied petroleum gas and several petrochemical tankers and cargo ships. In addition, the Iranian Civil Aviation Authority has reported that part of the airspace and several airports have been opened since 07:00.
Trump: "Maybe I won't prolong (the cease-fire)."
At the other end, US President Donald Trump has continued to tighten the rope. He has warned that if he fails to reach an agreement to end the conflict before Wednesday, the ceasefire with Iran may not be extended.
"Maybe I won't extend it, so we have a blockade and unfortunately we'll have to drop bombs again," the US leader said.
On the other hand, the President has clarified that the Lebanese/Israeli truce does not depend on negotiations with Iran.
Fragile cease-fire between Lebanon and Israel
In relation to the latter, Lebanon has reported several violations by Israel, and according to L'Orient le Jour , Tel Aviv has bombed the south of the country. No victims have been reported so far.
Lebanese President Joseph Aoun has confirmed that they will ask Israel to withdraw its troops from the south of the country. In a social media statement, Aoun has stressed that he will not sign an agreement that violates the country's sovereignty or loses territory.
