Madonna, Shakira, Ronaldinho or Ronaldo Nazario, top stars in the Super Bowl World Cup final

FIFA turned the break from a World Cup final for the first time into a big musical show similar to the Super Bowl in the US. In 15 minutes, the show brought together stars like Shakira, Madonna, BTS and Justin Bieber on the same stage.

The spectacle of the break, a tradition rooted in major sporting events in the United States, has been a novelty in the World Cup, which meant that the break in the final between Argentina and Spain was longer than the usual 15 minutes.

A total of 27 minutes passed between the players leaving the field at the end of the first half and the beginning of the second.

Shakira and 'Dai Dai'

One of the most acclaimed moments of the show was the performance of the official World Cup song Dai Dai by Shakira and Nigerian singer Burna Boy, both of whom danced the MetLife stadium alongside the winners of the Dai Dai Challenge and the Ugandan Ghetto Kids, known for their choreographies that went viral on social media.

Madonna also participated, coming onstage with Ronaldinho and Ronaldo Nazario. The BTS also performed, and Justin Bieber performed Everything Hallelujah accompanied by pure guitar.

On one side of the stage appeared the Venezuelan conductor Gustavo Dudamel, accompanied by the New York Philharmonic Orchestra and the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela.

Stars on the steps

The stands also featured international starssuch as Beyoncé, Dua Lipa, Rihanna, Timothée Chalamet and Matt Damon, as well as Sesame Street characters and the PS22 youth choir.

The pyrotechnic assisted performance also served to promote the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund, an initiative aimed at funding educational projects for children and access to sport.

Before the game, Post Malone starred in the closing ceremony of the World Cup alongside actor Tom Cruise, singers Robbie Williams and Laura Pausini and content creator IShowSpeed. In addition, Mario Kempes and Andras Iniesta presented the trophy before the initial whistle.

On the other hand, Jennifer Hudson, winner of the Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony Awards, performed a special version of the American national anthem before the match began.

The production of the show was run by Global Citizen, in collaboration with Live Nation and Done + Dusted, and was artistically directed by Coldplay leader Chris Martin.
