Erresuma Batuko Barne Ministerioak baimena eman zuen 1960ko hamarkadan bi erreformatoriotan zeuden umeekin sendagai esperimentalak probatzeko, Atxibo Nazionalek gaur desklasifikatutako hainbat agiriren arabera.

Agiri horiei esker jakin denez, agintariek ez zieten baimenik eskatu umeen gurasoei, eta probak egin edo ez egin zentroetako arduradunek erabakitzen zuten.

Hain zuzen ere, "Approved Schools" delako erreformatorioetan egin zituzten entseguak, hau da, epaileek bidalitako gazte gatazkatsuak zituzten zentroetan.

Agiri batean, adibidez, Pamela Mason Barne Ministerioaren psikiatrak proiektuari "babes gorena" ematea eskatu zuen.
